Etsy Artisan Interview with hippichiclv

I recently purchased this balm from Heather's etsy shop and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it! This stuff is amazing. Doing wonders for my rosacea and face in general. Using it on upper chest area (old lady chest be gone!). Hidden bonus is that it is healing my abused fingertips! I am so amazed.

Green Goddess Balm for Skin Renewal

Heather was kind enough to let me interview her. Be sure to check out her etsy shop for more wonderful items: http://www.hippichiclv.etsy.com

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?
Chickens for sure! I love chickens and I have 22 of them right now. If I had more land I would just keep my flock growing, but for now I have as many as I need. They are the yoga of animals and they all have their own separate personalities just like a cat or dog. THEY ARE GREAT!

Fruit or chocolate?
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate!

Your favorite meal?
I love Nut Loaves. I am vegetarian and I don't eat anything with MSG so my menu is quite limited. When I have time I like to make a Cashew Nut Loaf with Mashed Potatoes, and green beans!

City break or weekend in the country?
I live in the city. Yuck! I grew up in the country and I hope to find myself there again sometime soon.

How did you first get interested in what you do?
I have worked in restaurants all my life and I frequently thought of the flavors put into food and how they would work in soap. So, when I became a mother and I was home all the time I decided I would take the plunge into soap making. I put the lye into my "cart" online and I decided at the last minute I didn't want it, but it had already been ordered. So, my mind was actually made up for me. I guess it was meant to be.

Tell us about your shop.
I create herbal soaps and salves. I use herbal infusions of oil and/or water to promote the natural healing of your skin. A lot of doctors these days are so quick to give you a pill to help heal you and most of the time the answer is in your backyard. We have gotten so far away from nature that most people find it hard to believe that these herbs can heal. I hope to educate and heal through my creations.

What do you love most about selling on Etsy?
You really get to know the people you are selling to. You can use the forums and chat rooms to answer the questions people have about your product. It is a great way to sell something you feel passionate about.

Where else can we find you?
